The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Yoga leads Yoga Newbies through a 5-week journey (March 3-31) through the foundations of Yoga in a safe & welcoming environment. After completion of the course, participants will have the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently enjoy general public classes.
Week 1: Breath, Balance & the Importance of Flow
Allow us to teach you the ancient secrets on how to hit the pause button to stress as you learn how to mindfully move your body to the pace of your natural breath.
Week 2: Hips, Blocks & Mudra
Learn how to safely mobilize your hips (a.k.a. your largest joint) & low back using correct alignment & props.
Week 3: Shoulders, Blankets & Safe Transitions
Got tightness in your shoulders & neck? Let’s explore freeing up this tension through gentle yet effective movements.
Week 4: The 3 Movements of the Spine, The Core & Straps
“You are only as young as your spine is flexible” J. Pilates Explore the 3 movements of the spine in Yoga postures to bring ease back into every motion.
Week 5: Putting it all together
Enjoy combining all of your knowledge through a 60 minute, beginner-friendly Yoga practice. At the end of class, we will give each participant suggestions on classes at the studio that would be a good fit for you.
